About Mirador

Mirador is a private home in a 105-acre wildlife sanctuary that offers retreats for individuals or small groups. An adobe house, garden, and yurt set in an old-growth juniper/piñon forest in the high desert of western Colorado, Mirador provides quiet refuge for meditation, writing, painting, photography, and other contemplative pursuits. Custom locavore cuisine is created for visitors according to their needs. We have practiced low-impact solar living in harmony with nature here for 30 years, cultivating food and healing plants in the gardens as well as pollinator and wildlife habitat. Wildlife abounds in the surrounding woods and in the small canyon that bisects the property. Ample opportunities for all manner of spiritual and artistic adventures abound both on the grounds and on nearby public lands.
In-person events and retreats are paused until further notice. Half-day retreats may resume summer 2024. See "Options and Offerings" tab for online courses. Thank you for visiting this site.
